My Bio

Ethan Pack is a PhD candidate and Teaching Fellow in Comparative Literature at the University of California-Los Angeles (UCLA), and an independent journalist. Pack graduated with honors from Columbia University in 2008, with a degree in Comparative Literature. Pack is fluent in Arabic and Hebrew, and has lived and worked in Israel, Morocco, Turkey, and Germany, and traveled extensively in the Palestinian Territories, Jordan, Egypt, and throughout Europe. In New York, Pack worked at the Council on Foreign Relations, the Charlie Rose show, and the New York Post. In Israel, Pack worked at the newspaper Ha’aretz in 2004 and 2006, translating, editing, and writing for the paper’s online English Edition. Pack was born and raised in Kansas City, Missouri. When he has the chance, he also writes fiction and poetry.
